2017 MonksGate Vineyard North Block Yamhill-Carlton Dry Rosé of Pinot Noir
92 Points (Prince of Pinot)

"Delicate golden-pink color in the glass. Really magnetic nose showing aromas of strawberry, spice garrigue, brioche and floral goodness. A highly distinctive rosé, with flavors of strawberry, white peach, melon, and hints of caramel and goodness.. Creamy in the mouth with an excellent finishing grip of acidity"

MonksGate 2015 Classic Pinot Noir
91 Points (Wine Spectator)

"Classic is a pretty good description of this wine. It's meaty, firm, muscular and loaded with ripe blackberry and black-cherry fruit. The ripe ample tannins support that compact strength, and it has the balance and structure to cellar for the next decade. Drink 2020–2030."

MonksGate 2015 Trinity Pinot Noir
92 Points (Wine Spectator)

"This barrel selection is still tight and tannic, with compact, yet substantial cranberry, raspberry and pie-cherry fruit. It's got muscle and depth, and opens up nicely with aeration, displaying ripe and polished tannins through a long finish."

2015 HOLOCENE Pinot Noir 'Memorialis' 2015
92 Points (International Wine Report)

"The 2015 Holocene 'Memorialis' Pinot Noir is a fantastic project by superstar winemaker Todd Alexander, of Force Majeure. The wine is a 200 case production Oregon Pinot which was sourced from the MonksGate vineyard located outside of Carlton in the Willamette Valley. The vineyard is west facing and has marine sedimentary soils. The wine begins with aromas of red raspberry, forest floor, anise and spicebox with red cherry. The wine has flavors of red cherry, red raspberry, cremini mushroom and bright acidity. This has a saline aspect with nice minerality, as this will age gracefully into the next decade. (Best 2016-2026)"

2013 MonksGate Vineyard Riesling
Outstanding! (Great Northwest Wine)

"One of the highlight discoveries during 2014 has been this small family operation in Carlton, Ore. Their vineyard serves as a gateway for monks at the Trappist Abbey, which defines the name behind the label, and the work of winemaker Laurent Montalieu with estate clone C12 fruit — harvested Sept. 20 — helps explain the quality in the bottle. There’s been a growing buzz from Oregon about serious Riesling, and here’s another exciting bone-dry example that deserves to be in the discussion. It opens with fascinating floral notes of Juicy Fruit gum, white peach, Honeycrisp apple and lime, backed by a whiff of petrol. Its piercing acidity creates a narrow focus of limeade, Granny Smith apple and spearmint, finished with petrol and Maraschino cherry."

2012 MonksGate Vineyard Pinot Noir
Outstanding! (Great Northwest Wine)

"In 1998, the Moore family began to develop their 50 acres of farm near the emerging wine destination of Carlton, Ore., and their neighbors are the monks at Trappist Abbey. A gate the Moores built allows abbey workers the farm access they enjoyed before vines were planted. Hence, the name of this winery. One of Oregon’s top vintners, Laurent Montalieu, works on the estate program for the Moores, and this bottling from Pommard (83%) and 777 clones shows elegance. Minimal new French oak allows for aromas of cherry juice, ripe raspberry and dusty Bing cherry with a scrape of vanilla bean and cocoa powder. There’s a fascinating texture to the drink of ripe raspberries and cherries, which is smooth, juicy, balanced and capped by milk chocolate."
